Schöne und seltene amerikanische Vintage-Mandoline, gebaut von Gibson in Kalamazoo, USA, im Jahr 1923. Das Modell A2-Z besitzt eine gewölbte Decke aus Adirondack-Fichte und einen Korpus aus Birkenholz. Der Hals ist aus Mahagoni mit verstellbarem Halsstab.
Das Modell A2-Z gilt unter Kennern als eine der besten Gibson-Mandolinen mit ovalem Schalloch überhaupt. Dieses historisch wichtige Instrument stammt von Gibsons legendären Jahren unter der Leitung von Lloyd Loar. Der Ton ist wunderbar, kraftvoll und klar.
Die Mandoline ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Keinerlei Risse, alle Bauteile sind komplett original erhalten. Der originale Schellack-Finish zeigt normale Spielspuren. Hals und Bünde sind in gutem Zustand, Saitenlage und Bespielbarkeit perfekt. Eine hervorragend klingende Gibson-Mandoline aus jenen Jahren in so guter Erhaltung zu finden ist selten, vor allem hierzulande - die Chance also für anspruchsvolle Musiker und/oder Sammler. The A2-Z model is renowned to be among the best Gibson oval-hole mandolins ever built. This historically important instrument was manufactured during Gibsons legendary years when Lloyd Loar was heading instrument production. The tone is wonderful, strong and clear.
This mandolin is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, all parts are original. The original shellack finish shows normal wear. The neck is straight, frets have lots of life left, action and playability are perfect. To find a great-sounding Gibson mandolin from those years preserved in such fine condition is a pretty rare opportunity for the discerning musician and/or collector - especially in Europe. Comes with the original hard case.
