Le FX 50 est le haut de gamme des ultra-compacts chez Panasonic. Son objectif est excellent et donne de très bons résultats, complété par un traitement efficace des images. Le zoom comprend un grand-angle et est stabilisé. L'écran arrière est grand et le confort d'utilisation est amélioré par un réglage d'ajustement de l'angle de vision, fonction inhabituelle. Le déplacement dans les menus de réglages se fait grâce à un bouton fonctionnant comme un joystick.
