Fully Wired Electronics Transistor Ladder Filter Eurorack
The Transistor Ladder Filter (TLF) is an affordable 8HP, 24dB per octave low pass resonant filter. The TLF is designed to embody the classic transistor ladder filter characteristics, whilst also having its own flavour. The Transistor Ladder Filter features an audio input, with an accompanying attenuator, a CV (Control Voltage) input and attenuator, and 1V/Oct (1 volt per octave) tracking via the 1V/Oct input.
Thanks to trimmer pots that are accessible via the front panel, the TLF can be fully calibrated without the module being removed from your case. This was a core part of the design as we feel even the smallest of things, like calibration, should be as easy and accessible as possible.

Rebooting a classic
Plaits is the spiritual successor of Mutable Instruments' best-selling voltage-controlled sound source, Braids. Not just a mkII version: its hardware and software have been redesigned from scratch.
Just like its predecessor, it offers direct access to a large palette of easily tweakable raw sonic material, covering the whole gamut of synthesis techniques.
Simplicity first
Gone are the screen, menu system, hidden settings, and the long list of somewhat redundant synthesis models.
Thanks to additional CV inputs, and to the use of three timbre-shaping parameters per model, Plaits is straightforward to use, and much closer to the ideal of one synthesis technique = one model. What were fragmented islands of sound in Braids are now part of a continuum of sounds.
Ready for percussion
Patch a trigger generator or sequencer into Plaits' trigger input and instantly use the module as a percussive source thanks to its built-in virtual low-pass gate (LPG).
An internal D (decay) envelope generator is normalled to all unpatched CV inputs. Just turn the corresponding attenuverter to add pitch, timbre or morphing modulation. And if plucks and snappy hits are not your thing, patch your own envelope or CV source into the LPG CV input.

MDL Music - Slew Rate - Eurorack
The Slew Rate module is a voltage controlled slew limiter and modulation source. The core idea behind this module is inspired by many popular modules including the Makenoise Maths and the Befaco Rampage.
At the modules' heart is a voltage controlled slew limiter, whose output is a copy of the input voltage except with any sharp steps replaced by smooth ramps, with a rate set by the front panel Rise and Fall controls as well as the corresponding control voltages. When used on pitch CV, the slew limiter creates a glide effect.
Additional logic circuitry turns the Slew Rate into a versatile modulation source. By feeding a signal to the Gate, the module becomes a voltage controlled envelope generator, with the attack time set by Rise, an optional Sustain phase, and the decay time by Fall.

MDL Music - Ladder Filter - Eurorack
Multimode Diode Ladder Filter
This filter is based on the circuit of the legendary EMS filter which was also used in Roland's TB303. The circuit is fully analog and was developed with the utmost care.
The bands can be changed with the toggle levers. HiPass/BandPass/LowPass. With the HiPass toggle lever you can also add distortion in the middle position. This setup distort only the higher frequencies and gives the filter an extremely warm character but can also be pushed to the point of destroying the sound.
In addition, all filter modes can also be operated simultaneously, which leads to exceptional results

A VC(F)A with a brain
Streams provides two channels of extremely flexible signal dynamics manipulation.
Each channel consists of an analog voltage-controlled filter and amplifier (VCFA). The response curve of the amplifier section is continuously variable from exponential to linear. The amplifier gain is directly controllable from a CV input, through an attenuator. But what makes Streams truly unique is the multi-purpose EXCITE input.
The signal routed to this input is analyzed by a micro-controller and translated into internal control voltages for the VCFA, turning Streams into a very versatile signal contouring tool.

The modulation construction set
ASR envelope, complex 6-stage envelope, LFO, 4-step sequence or switched LFO: Stages can be any kind of modulation.
Not because all these behaviors have been pre-programmed in the module, but because it allows you to describe your own modulations in terms of basic operations: ramp from one voltage to another, hold a voltage at a set level, wait for a trigger and slew. With or without looping.
Whether you need one complex envelope, or several simpler modulations, Stages reconfigures itself according to which of its gate inputs are patched. There is always a role for it in your patch.
That's it
Really, there isn't more to the story.
Self-generating chiptunes? Very weird LFO shapes? Random gate delay? Stages probably does strange and wonderful things when patched in a certain way.

Up, down. Once, forever. Slow, fast. Sober or drunken
Tides is all about waves that go up and down, from minute-long cycles to audio rates... This module is Mutable Instruments? unique take on the looping AD envelope generator ? pushing this well-known trope to unknown territories.
The core of the module is a digital asymmetric triangle function generator, which can be used in AD and AR modes (for envelope generation), or looping (as a VC-LFO or VC-DO).
The triangle generator is followed by a wavetable waveshaper providing linear, exponential, logarithmic, sinusoidal, or arc-sinusoidal shapes for the A and D segments. Then, a second processor applies either a 2-pole low-pass filter to the waveform, smoothing its sharp edges; or a rubbery wavefolder, adding kinks and bounces to the waveform.
Polyrhythmic variations
What sets this 2018 revision apart from its predecessor is the introduction of additional output modes, producing variations (shifted in amplitude, time, phase or frequency) of the main signal.
And of course, a redesign from scratch focused on accuracy and audio quality.

Monsoon (12hp Clouds with extra control) Eurorack
Monsoon is a 12hp variation of Mutable Instruments Clouds with separate CV and controls for the 4 "blend" functions. The 4 LEDs on the sliders indicate incoming control voltage for the 4 main parameters. The button which was used to select blend parameters now simply switches what the 4 LEDs display (audio input monitoring or monitoring the 4 blend amounts.) Parasites 2.01 firmware is loaded by default. Alternative firmware can be loaded by request.

A Bernoulli gate takes a logic signal (trigger or gate) as an input, and routes it to either of its two outputs according to a random coin toss.
Branches packs two such gates in a small 6-HP panel. The knob and CV input on each channel controls the probability of routing the gate to either outputs, from 100% output A, 0% output B; to 0% output A, 100% output B.

Micronova is a miniature 100x30mm power supply with a big soul. It can provide up to 18W of power for your modules and multiple units can be easily daisy chained to power larger systems.
Despite being adorably small, Micronova provides lots of flexibility for custom case builds. It can be powered through an attached DC barrel jack, screw terminals.
Micronova is equipped with two Eurorack power headers that can be expanded using a Busboard or flying bus cable.
Micronova also has critical safety features including reverse polarity protection, a resettable polyfuse, and over-current shutdown.

Particles, grains and birds. Flocks, swarms and clouds
Clouds is a granular audio processor like no other.
Clouds is focused on the realtime granularization of incoming audio signals, and their transformation into amorphous textures.
Grains of adjustable size, pitch and envelope, are extracted at controllable time offsets from the input signal. Grains are seeded randomly, periodically, or whenever the module receives a trigger.
The textures generated by Clouds are extremely thick, partly because of the large number of concurrent grains (up to 60), partly because of a built-in allpass diffuser and reverberator, smearing the shortest transient into a wash of noise - giving the illusion of an even larger number of simultaneous grains.
A list of things Clouds is not trying to be: a sample player, a slicer, a looper.

The physical modelling building block
Rings brings physical modelling synthesis to your Eurorack system, from a more modular angle than Braids' models or Elements.
Instead of trying to be a complete instrument, Rings focuses on the key ingredient, the resonator, ready to be excited by envelope clicks, trigger pulses, granular noise or any other audio source produced by the rest of your system.
Three families of vibrating structures are simulated by the module, with CV control over their parameters:
Strings, membranes and tubes as modelled by Elements' resonator section (modal synthesis).
Strings coupled together and vibrating in sympathy, with controllable intervals between them.
Strings with a variable amount of inharmonicity.
Rings can be configured so that each new note is played on its own virtual string, while the previously played note(s) still decay(s). This unique take on polyphony allows the module to play strummed chords.

Controlled chaos, repeatable randomness Marbles is a source of random gates and voltages, which offers an extensive amount of (voltage) control on all the different flavors of randomness it produces. The module gives the musician many different ways of imposing structure on the random events generated by the module: synchronization to external clocks, control of the repetition or novelty of the generated material, quantization of the voltages, or randomization of gates or voltages generated by traditional sequencers. t: the random gate generator Marbles either follows its own internal clock, or locks onto an adjustable multiplication/division of an external clock (or regular rhythmic pattern). This regular clock is perturbed by a process simulating an instrumentist playing along a click and trying to catch up on their errors - from perfect accuracy to complete chaos. From this imperfect master clock, a 2-channel random rhythm is generated, using one of the following processes: random coin toss (similar to Branches), random ratcheting, or random drum pattern generation (similar to a randomly modulated Grids). X: the random voltage generator This generator produces 3 channels of random voltages, each of them clocked by the individual outputs of the t section, or by a common external clock signal. Complete control on the distribution of the output voltages is provided: concentrated or spread-out, quantized or unquantized, smoothed or steppy, centered or biased towards a specific voltage. The same transformations can be performed on an external CV, for sample-and-hold or shift-register operation. An auxiliary slowly fluctuating random voltage output (Y) is also available for self-patching fun! A feeling of déjà-vu... Marbles remembers the history of every recent clock deviation, rhythm or voltage it has generated. The DEJA VU knob on the panel controls the probability of reusing past material instead of sampling fresh random data. You are thus given control on the feeling of repetition and structure in the generated random voltages and rhythms. At the extreme, the module no longer generates any novel values and loops over the same pattern (or a random permutation of it). And of course, this (variably) random looping can be performed on external CVs!

Supersynthesis TVCA with Black Anodized MDL Panel - Eurorack
VCA is a 2-input VCA built around the LM13700, taking advantage of its characteristic hyperbolic tangent transfer function to yield delicious distortion. The DIST slider is just an attenuator on the input of the VCA, with something close to unity gain at the bottom and "major crunchy squashing" at the top. The rest works as a standard VCA, with two separate inputs with their own associated attenuators.
IN: DC-coupled signal inputs with associated level controls.
CV: The VCA's CV input. 0V is closed, 5V is fully open.
DIST: Distortion amount.

Phaser (Black Aluminium Panel) Eurorack
Nonlinearcircuit ENCEPHALO ADJUSTER
PHASER is a 24 stage phase shifter using LDRs in a black box.
Probably the unusual feature is the positive and negative feedback path. Feedback is 0 when the Regen pot is in the middle, turn it to the left for negative feedback, to the right for positive, or use CV to do the job for you. It will self-oscillate at the extremes.
It is probably obvious at this point that I have a thing for phasers. 24 stages are somewhat ridiculous but I wanted to try it and the result is a very nice smooth phaser with some angry bits when you push it. The name comes from a mind control device that appears in a few AE Van Vogt novels, I have been itching to use it for years.
The trimpot on the top PCB sets the operating range for the Phase pot. Set it to remove any dead zones at the extremes.

The MIDI CV/Interface that can do moreMultichannel MIDI to CV/Gate conversion
Yarns is a MIDI interface providing up to 4 channels of very accurate CV/Gate conversion, which can be assigned to up to 4 voices.
In single voice mode, note, velocity, modulation and aftertouch (or other CC) CV are produced, along with a gate, a trigger, and a clock/reset output.
In two voices mode, two channels of note, modulation or aftertouch CV are produced, along with two gates, and clock/reset outputs.
Finally, in four voices mode, four pairs of CV/Gate outputs are provided.
Each voice has a built-in digital LFO to interpret modulation wheel messages as a vibrato; can respond to pitch-bend messages; or can be smoothed with a glide/portamento control ? no need for a dedicated module and patches to get the right response from a MIDI keyboard!
Monophonic and polyphonic
The 2 and 4-voice modes are available both in a "polyphonic" and "multitimbral" flavour. The former receives chords from one single MIDI channel and dispatches them to the voices; while the later provides independent monophonic parts ? which can be addressed to different MIDI channels, keyboard ranges, or even velocity levels.
Various note priority modes (low, high, last) and polyphonic allocation schemes (voice-stealing, random, cyclic) allows you to fine-tune the CV/Gate conversion to your playing style.
With sequencing and note transformation...
Each part can generate sequences either through an arpeggiator/euclidean sequencer combo; or with a SH-101 style sequencer with step-by-step recording, storing up to 64 notes. The module can sync to an external MIDI clock, and generate a clock/reset output at any subdivisions of the MIDI clock.

Other unique features include support for microtunings (either through standard MIDI messages or from a selection of historical tunings or indian ragas), just intonation, and an audio output mode which can transform one, two, or four of the CV outputs into simple digital oscillators.

MDL - DRIFT (Eurorack)
Drift is a modulation source capable of creating organic, always moving, never repeating control voltages with just a couple simple parameters. Drift can operate in four different modes depending on a configuration DIP switch on the back of the module. It can generate voltages according to a stacked Perlin noise algorithm, cubic Bezier interpolation, Brownian motion, or it can act as a simple LFO.

Basically grabbed the classic Jacky/Kirschman 555 ADSR circuit from 1980 and replaced the pots for Attack, Decay and Release with LDRs inside black boxes (BBX).
Not sure why it hasn?t been done before, it is a simple circuit and the results are fun; lots of wobbly, evolving envelopes.
