Kappa series center speaker that uses C. M. M. D. unit.
The speaker unit uses a newly developed diaphragm, C. M. M. D. (Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragms), made of a ceramic compound called alumina, which is lightweight and highly rigid. It has a composite structure consisting of an aluminum base sandwiched by alumina.
As a result, the damping characteristics of the low-frequency unit are improved and the high-frequency unit is able to respond quickly to large amplitudes, while the characteristics of the high-frequency unit are improved by driving the resonance frequency out of the audible band.
Two 17 CMc. M. M. D. cone type woofers are installed in the low range, 10 CMc. M. M. D. cone type mid-range in the middle range, and 2.5 CMc. M. M. D. dome type tweeters are installed in the high range.
