Envoi : 37.- This is a used EMP-1 Employee Model, a limited edition model produced only for one year in 1998 by a team of 12 Martin employees. Top: Spruce Sides: Ovangkol Back: Ovangkol/Indian Rosewood 3-piece Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Tuners: Gotoh (Martin original) Other: 42.8mm nut width, 645mm scale Production was limited to just one year, with only about 250 units made, making it an extremely rare model. With a 645mm scale and a maximum body width of 15 inches, it has a similar size to an OM model, but it features various modifications such as a cutaway, a unique rosette design, an abalone headstock logo, and a 3-piece back. The sides and back of the body are made of Ovangkol, which is said to have acoustic properties similar to rosewood, while the inside of the back is made of Indian rosewood. The bracing is a rear-shifted scalloped X, and due to its age of over 25 years, it produces a very soft and full sound. With no pickguard and a cutaway design, it's also perfectly suited for fingerstyle playing. The body has some minor scratches and small dents throughout, but there are no cracks or deep scratches, making it in beautiful condition considering its age. Some rust is visible on the tuning pegs, but it's only cosmetic and doesn't affect the feel of the knobs; tuning is smooth. Fret wear is minimal, and the truss rod has plenty of adjustment range in both directions. The saddle height also has ample adjustment range, so you can use it with confidence for years to come. The original hard case is included.
