Biz knows how to stay afloat, normal, okay, regular, good. She has her friends, her mother, the twins. She has Grace. And she has her father, who shouldn't be here, but is anyway. So Biz doesn't tell anyonenot about her dark thoughts, which are spiraling out of control, not about kissing Grace or watching Jasper, the new guy. And not about seeing her father. Because her father died when she was seven. But after what happened on the beach, the ropes holding Biz back begin to loosen. Her father disappears, and with him, all comfort. Could it be easier, better, sweeter to drift all the way away? Or maybe she should stay a little longer, find her father, bring him back to her. Or maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe there's a third way that Biz hasn't seen yet. Debut author Helena Fox tells a story of love, grief, and mental illness across generations, exploring the harsh and beautiful places loss can take us, and honoring those who hold us when the current threatens to pull us out to sea.
