THE RESTORATION

Carried out over three years by its owner, a Geneva-based collector experienced in restoring British automobiles, the operation was conducted via full disassembly, with systematic part labeling. It was documented and published step-by-step by the specialist press, whose full report accompanies the car.

- Complete disassembly of the car, chassis refurbished
- Front and rear suspension entirely rebuilt
- Rear suspension modified according to the solution adopted for the XK 140: Koni Classic vertical hydraulic shock absorbers in place of arm-type shock absorbers
- New ball joints, brakes, and shock absorbers
- Six-cylinder engine removed and overhauled, twin SU carburation
- Bodywork entirely stripped and then anti-corrosion treated
- Paint in Dove Grey, a rare factory shade from the Jaguar range, preferred over the more common ivory, black, red, and British Racing Green
- Red leather upholstery, matching carpets, walnut burl dashboard and trim
- Sand-colored top with chrome rear window, matching tonneau cover
- Disc wheels with hubcaps, chosen over wire wheels
