A technical, shearling-style fleece gilet built from synthetic Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabric. Matching mobility with insulation, the Mantra Gilet is a versatile mid-layer for mountaineering and other dynamic cold weather pursuits.

The forerunner of our popular ?Mantra? range, this fleece mid-layer was designed to balance insulation with mobility across a range of activities and climates. It functions well under an insulated jacket or hard shell but can also be worn as an outer layer in more temperate conditions.

This technical gilet is built from Polartec® Thermal Pro®, a synthetic fleece fabric that mimics the feel of classic shearling but with added performance benefits. Thermal Pro® builds in technical fibre compositions for both a soft texture but also air pockets for thermoregulation and breathability. As with the remainder of Polartec's® synthetic fleece fabrics, Thermal Pro® provides excellent warmth to weight ratio plus the added advantage of anti-pilling technology. This means that not only will the Mantra Gilet perform even better than a woollen alternative, it won?t look as tired with repeat use as we?ve come to expect from natural fleece fibres. Thermal Pro ® is also fast drying making for a more reliable fleece for multi day trekking and expeditions.

In terms of details, the Mantra Gilet features a high collar with chin guard for added weather resistance. It is elasticated at the hems in order to keep the mid-layer snug to the body, maximising insulation and minimising carry burden when worn under an outer-layer. There are three external pockets secured with YKK zips, one chest pocket and two hand pockets plus internal pockets for additional stowage of essentials. Underarm side panels made from another Polartec® fleece fabric, PowerGrid?, provide added breathability at targeted areas and allow greater stretch for improved range of movement.
