In the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, the art of rug-making has been a cherished tradition passed down through generations, particularly among the Berber women. These skilled artisans, often elderly women, weave intricate patterns and vibrant colors into each rug, reflecting their rich cultural heritage and personal stories. Using wool from local sheep, they create each piece by hand, employing techniques that have been preserved for centuries.

The process is labor-intensive and can take months to complete a single rug. Each design carries symbolic meanings, representing aspects of their daily life, nature, and spirituality. These rugs are not just functional items but are also pieces of art that embody the spirit and resilience of the Atlas Mountain communities. The craftsmanship of these women ensures that their cultural legacy continues to thrive, preserving a vital part of Morocco's heritage.
