In "Awa no Hibi," Japanese photographer Hajime Sawatari collaborates with a model to create an erotic vision of a late afternoon spent at home.
Sawatari, whose work has been characterized by a delicate blend of reality and fiction captures his nude, anonymous model in strange and familiar poses throughout the apartment that serves as "Awa no Hibi's" stage. The precise but never unerotic poses, gestures, and facial expressions slowly build an ambiguous atmosphere that oscillates between longing and ennui, tension and relief.
