This fine art print was created using an intaglio printmaking process. Intaglio printing is an intense labor of love in which the artist creates an image with varnish or waxes on a zinc or copper plate, and etches the image into the metal using an acid solution. Inks are applied to the metal plate, and each print is pulled by hand.

Born in Spain, he studied at the Beaux Arts in Algiers from 1899. He was a student of Hippolyte Dubois, as well as Rogrosse and Gabriel Ferrière in Paris.
Upon his return to Algiers, he exhibited at the Salon of Algerian and Orientalist Artists, particularly his colorful landscapes. He visited Bou-Saâda in 1911 with Maxime Noiré. He was one of the founding members of the Salon of Independent Artists of North Africa in 1925. He painted many works of Philippeville, some of which were on display in the town hall of that city.
