Marantz 6150 - Restored Direct Drive Turntable
I am offering a restored turntable from my collection. A real gem from the vintage bespoke brand Marantz- the 6150! This is the smaller brother of the legendary 6300 turntable.
Many people consider this era (the 1970s) to be the best hi-fi times and Marantz devices from this period are really highly collectable due to their great build quality and sonic characteristics. The Marantz 6150 from 1978 (this unit- 16 Feb) is characterized by a remarkable servo- controlled direct drive and a precision tone arm mounted on steel bearings. Other features include hydraulically damped cueing, strobe- referenced electronic speed tuning, low capacitance cables, and shock absorbing mounting feet to prevent acoustic feedback.
What has been addressed in this unit: New Audio Technica AT3600L cartridge; Potentiometers and switches cleaned with DeoxIt; Motor shaft/well cleaned and lubricated; Capacitors in the power supply and partially in the motor board replaced; Cleaned inside and outside; Cleaned contacts of the headshell and tone arm; Tonearm tracking force and antiscating adjusted for the cartridge; Cleaned and lubricated moving parts; Set for 240V.
Some age related dints on the chassis. More noticeable scratches on the dustcover.
Collection and test are preferred as this is a precision instrument.

NAD 3020i & NAD CD502 Collectors Items
I am offering to your attention a collectors' lot of vintage Hi-Fi devices: the improved version of the legendary NAD 3020 and the modified GS entry level audiophile NAD 502 CD player.
They both come with the original boxes and 3 months guarantee that they shall perform as expected.
There is a lot of praise over the internet about the high quality of both these hi-fi products.
What was addressed in the units:
NAD 3020i: The unit was upgraded with new higher spec filter caps (6800 uF/50v Chemicon for better sound and higher power reserve); Completely recapped with new high quality electrolytic capacitors; New thermal paste and mica insulations for the output transistors (better heat dissipation); Solder joints reflowed at critical places of the board (common failure point for the model); Settings as per the service manual; Potentiometers and switches cleaned with DeoxIt; Cleaned inside and out.
NAD 502: The unit was upgraded in 1997 by a company in Basel; I have cleaned and re-lubricated the CD mechanism; New belt; New incandescent lamps for the display (common failure point for the model); Cleaned inside and out. Comes with the original remote control.
As a result it still we have the legendary sounds like a much bigger amplifier than it is performance (3020i), combined with a super nice sounding CD reproduction (502). The 3020i can still drive down to 4 loads. In fact the 3020i has a rear switch that allows you to configure the power supply for best performance if you are only going to use it with 8 (or 4) speakers.
Like the 3020, the 3020i features NADs proprietary soft clipping that even removes the harsh edges if your music does try to take things beyond its limits. A high quality phono (turntable) input is fitted, and theres space for up to three line level (aux) devices.
Visually the both NAD devices are very well preserved, just a few age related flaws.
Collection and test are preferred, but a well packed shipment is also an option. Buyer bears the shipment costs and the risk of damage during shipment.

Pioneer SX-838 Restored
I am offering to your attention a real vintage classic - the monster receiver Pioneer SX-838. (Dimensions: 520 x 175 x 420mm; Weight: 16.2kg)
The iconic Pioneer SX-838 was released in 1974, features a combination of excellent sound quality, power, and classic design. Its retail price was $499.95. It delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms with 0.3% total harmonic distortion. Today the x3x line from Pioneer is highly desired for both its performance and its looks.
The SX-838 is well equipped with inputs, including two Phono inputs, and also with outputs - there is an option of connecting three sets of speakers. On top there is a variety of settings as can be seen from the pictures.
Overall, the Pioneer SX-838 is an excellent receiver. It has the cool early Pioneer styling, underrated power, and plenty of features.
What was done for this particular unit: Recapped all major boards (excluding the FM/AM); Replaced the small transistors, known to go bad with time; New real wood veneer on the wood case; Cleaned all pots and switches; LED lamps upgrade; All settings done as per the service manual; New feet; Thoroughly cleaned inside and out; etc.
As a result the Pioneer SX-838 looks really nice and sounds even better.

Thorens TD-160 Restored
I am offering a turntable from my collection. A real vintage legend - the Thorens TD-160!
Many people consider this to be the best vintage turntable for the price range. Almost nothing beats a properly set TD-160. It`s simple, robust and most importantly, properly designed. Its perfection comes from its simplicity and ingenuity of the tonearm.
What has been addressed in this unit: New Audio Technica AT3600L cartridge; New RCA connectors; New Thakker belt; Dampening material applied to decrease vibration and increase sound quality; Suspension springs removed from the unit, cleaned and treated with WD-40 to protect from rust; Motor lubricated; Capacitor from the power supply replaced; Cleaned inside and outside; Cleaned contacts of the headshell and tone arm; Tonearm tracking force and antiscating adjusted for the cartridge; Lubricated according to service instructions. Please note that this unit comes without a dustcover. Minor age related dints. Two decorative covers from the tonearm missing but this does not affect sound reproduction.
